Fundiswa Nteyi

Legal Programmes Coordinator

Fundiswa Nteyi joined ISLA as the Legal Pogrammes Coordinator with 13 years of experience in the development sector and six years in corporate settings. At her last held position with Hlanganisa Institute for Development in Southern Africa, which is an intermediary grant making organization, she assessed the landscape of social movements nationally with the goal of developing a strategy to support movements in specific sub-thematic areas. Prior to that she held a position at the International Labour Organization as the Finance and Administrative Assistant supporting various development cooperation projects during her six-year tenure.

This cumulative working experience has given her a solid foundation and capabilities to refine her skills.

Fundiswa holds a certificate in Business Administration and has additional educational background in finance. Her exposure in the development sector has prompted her to pursue studies in social sciences towards a BA degree in International Relations.

As a social justice and feminist activist, my compassion drives me to seek social change that will see the dismantling of structural barriers to social and economic opportunities. Furthermore, I seek to strengthen skills in fostering and building solidarity networks and social movements that will bring about this social change by collectively collaborating and partnering in the quest to finding Afrocentric solutions while encouraging active participation in public life.

Fundiswa loves reading, listening to deep house music and fashion. I love exploring new places and hoping to more African countries in the future. I also love spending time with my children and connecting with family.
