Andrea Coomber is the Director of JUSTICE, a long-established law reform and human rights organisation based in London. Prior to joining JUSTICE in 2013, Andrea was the Legal Director at INTERIGHTS, where she specialised in international equality litigation. Andrea represented applicants before the African Commission of Human and Peoples’ Rights and the European Court of Human Rights in key cases concerning discrimination. Over the past 18 years, she has trained lawyers and judges across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific in international human rights law. Andrea is an Australian qualified lawyer, who has lived and worked in human rights in India, Geneva and Cairo. She has a BA/LLM (Hons) from the University of Western Australia and an LLM (Dist.) from the London School of Economics. Andrea is a trustee of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, and sits on the litigation advisory bodies of a number of international human rights organisations.
