Rainatou Sow is the Executive Director of Make Every Woman Count (MEWC), an African woman-led organisation that monitors and documents women’s rights in Africa. This is done through
focused research and dissemination of published works in the form of reports and policy briefs to support evidence-based advocacy to uphold women’s rights in pursuit of gender equality in Africa.
Rai holds an Executive Master’s in Public Policy/Administration, an MA in International Relations and an MA in Law. She has many years of experience working with governments, institutions such as the UN, AU, EU, International Organisations, CSOs, and policy-makers on women’s rights, gender equality, peace, development and human rights. Rai has extensive experience in advocacy, policy, and knowledge production; and solid analytical and research skills, both quantitative and qualitative, with a direct experience in monitoring and analysing developments to provide expert advice on various issues related to women’s rights and development.
Over the years, Rai has received many awards and honours for her work from Forbes, BBC, Women4Afirca, Pan African Humanitarian Awards., etc.
